Winter weddings are definitely the way to go.
You have so many more options to choose from at a lower cost. Not to mention, you will have a ready made gorgeous backdrop for your wedding, if you live in a location where you receive a lot of snow. Take a chance and experience incredible romance and have a winter wedding!
You and your groom need to sit down and think about what you would like to see in your wedding. What colors would you like? What songs? How many people? Will the people that are in your wedding and coming to your wedding come from a very long distance? If they are, you may want to think long and hard about having a winter wedding.
However, my husband and I got married a week before Christmas in the upper Midwest and we had our groomsman fly in from Colorado and it worked out beautifully. It was truly a fairy tale wedding with the snow falling and the red and green.
Anyway, if you are thinking of an outdoor wedding, it may not be completely impossible. It really, obviously, depends on where you live. If you are living in the upper Midwest or in, it probably would not be the brightest idea your and your groom has ever come up with. However, if you attend a church that if full of windows, where you can see the outdoors, it may be the perfect idea.
If you are thinking about decorations and do not want to spend a fortune on them, around Christmas is probably the best time to get married. Most churches and other venues are all decked out around Christmas time and it will save you a ton of money on decorations for your wedding that you will probably never use again.
You can save a lot of money on the venue and on the other areas of the wedding if you choose to have a winter wedding. Since most people tend to get married in the spring, summer, and fall, everything seems to be more expensive when it comes to weddings. If you have your wedding in the winter, everyone in the business of supplying different things for weddings, such as the baker, the florist, etc. is not on such high demand, may be more helpful and the price for what you are getting may be less.
However, you may find depending on the type of flowers you are looking for, that your floral arrangements for your winter wedding will be a little more costly than if you had a wedding in the summer. Though, many floral shops offer great discounts on roses, poinsettias, and other flowers around Christmas time. It is really dependant upon what you are looking for.
The decorations for a winter wedding can be composed of crystal, poinsettias, roses, and lights. Make your wedding a winter wonderland with simple elegance. Make use of the flowers that are in season. You could even purchase small Christmas trees and decorate the tables with small decorated trees or crystal ornaments to make your venue look exquisite!
You will have many more extravagant and elegant options when it comes to choosing a wedding dress. I chose a “princess” dress with a long train, but you could choose many dresses that bridal stores get in for winter weddings that have a hint of red on them as well, to go along with the theme of your wedding.
Winter is a beautiful time of the year. It is, for many parts of the country, a time of snow and icicles and snowmen and….romance. Yes, winter is the perfect time to have a beautiful, intimate wedding. Just imagine walking down the aisle in your beautiful white dress as the sky is filled with crystal-like snowflakes that are gently falling all around. Who wouldn’t want to get married in the winter?!

My special day was just over a month ago now and I had a great time! The day was absolutely perfect, all of my friends and family were there celebrating and having a good time; i couldnt of asked for any more! I have found that the best centerpieces involve candles and flowers. The two seem to go so well together. Silk flowers or real flowers can be used and candle bowls with floating candles, or glass stemware with votive or tealite candles also make great centerpieces. The bowls or stemware are reusable so it makes it very economical.
