Sexy Bridal Makeup and Hair

??
Makeup and Hair by VickiMillar/ Model Jill Billingsley/ Photography by Stephen Loban??Every bride wants to look beautiful and classic on her wedding day. Some also want to look sexy too! Below are some tips to help you look beautiful, classic and sexy on your wedding day.

1. Choose dewy sexy skin! It wins anytime you're looking for a chic sexy look. Look for foundations that have silicone (built in primers) to help give you that dewy sexy skin or tell your makeup artist you want to have sexy skin! (he/she will do the rest)

2. You can have one or the other - you must choose. Decide to either glam-up your eyes or your lips. But don't do both. Picking one part of your face to accentuate is all you need to get that sexy look. Concentrate on what you feel is your greatest attribute and add some drama to it.

3. Try some false lashes. Even if you've decided to glam up your lips instead of your eyes just a simple strip of pretty false lashes with a thin layer of liner just on the eyelash line will make your eyes pop and give you sex appeal!

4. Opt for more casual hairstyles such as, low loose curly chignons, birds nest's updo's, side loose braids, sleek ponytails and full loose curls . These types of hairstyles are modern and current but also add an element of sexiness to your overall look.

5. Keep your locks looking their best on your wedding day by adding a shine product (there are many but this is my favourite) to your hairstyle. This will give your hair that extra shine especially when the lights go down....sexy!

Come by later on this week when I'll be covering the BIGGEST wedding of the century! That's right - don't miss my blog on Kate and William's wedding. I CANNOT wait to see what she looks like.  See you soon!

Real NYC Engagement Session | Caitlyn + Rickey at
the Brooklyn Botanical Garden

Our friend Missy from Missy Photography made our day when she sent us Caitlyn and Rickey's engagement session at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens {in the height of cherry blossom season, no less}. The soft pink blooms are so pretty, delicate and romantic... And if you're fortunate to catch them right at their prime, they are the ideal backdrop for a late April photoshoot...

We love how the bright yellow color of Caitlyn's dress contrasts with the pink blush background and makes her glow! And all the little details, such as the darling watering can and vintage picnic basket, add a perfect touch of whimsy. The shoot was styled by Stephanie Cunningham, who did a wonderful job capturing Caitlyn and Rickey's cute and playful chemistry.

A Spontaneous Date Night

Last night my husband and I had an impromptu date night. I love it when that happens! In the morning I had dropped Ilah off at my moms house and then went to Tuesday morning bible study at our church. Afterwards we all went to lunch {well, most of us went to lunch} and then afterwards I went on to run some errands. By the time I got back to my mom's house it was 4:30 p.m. Man, the time just flew!! Since Ilah was already at my mom's house, Dele asked if I was up for doing dinner at a new Cuban place that opened up near our home. We've been here once before, a few weeks ago, and loved it!! We bought a $25 gift certificate for just $2 off of restaurant.com and gave the new place a try. It has become one of our go-to spots now since the food is so good and it's so close to home! Not to mention, the atmoshere is beautiful, and on the weekends they play live music. Since discovering we really like this place, we bought a few more of the gift cards so we dine at a really nice place for super cheap : )
Dele met me there since he was coming from work and when we both got out of our cars, I jokingly said to him, "does your wife know you're here?". There was a man who passed by us just as I said that and after he walked by, he turned around and looked back at us! No one was meant to hear my little joke! Woops! Lol! We had the BEST time during dinner.

I told Dele that I can see why some married couples {who have children} consider a weekly date night {without children} to be so important. We dine out frequently, but Ilah is often with us {because we love having her with us} but as we sat at dinner together, not having to tend to a little one, our focus was solely on each other - and even though we weren't talking about anything deep or important, we really connected. It was such a wonderful night!

After dinner I went and picked up Ilah and told Dele to stay home and relax. He was up super late {5:30 a.m.!} the night/morning before finalizing an app that he has been working on. On the drive to get Ilah, I was on cloud 9. It's amazing what one hour of truly connecting with your spouse can do. It's so easy to get caught up in the routines of life; it's good for the soul to reconnect with the one you love, without a single distraction....to simply be present and give all of yourself to one moment. It's bliss.
