The Day After {Wedding Dress Walk of Shame}

One of my favorite things about the community of wedding blogs is reading the posts following the big day. So many brides talk about their dress with such admiration, some have even named theirs! How cute is that? After spending days or even weeks searching for the perfect dress you only get to wear it for one day.

Red Carpet Fashion Awards Atelier Versace released images of his collection along side sketches of the dresses. How great would it be to get a sketch of your dress and have it framed? It's such a classic way to preserve your dress without all of the bulk. I can't imagine I'll ever do anything with my dress after the big day. So I'd be inclined to part with it. I'd much rather have a gorgeous sketch of my dress hanging in my house.

A Little Love For The Boys

I haven't even picked my bridesmaids yet. I've had a lot of friend drama since Zack and I got engaged. His friends are more consistent and less dramatic. So some of my favorite blogs have been recapping about their groomsmen and their groomsmen gifts . Since Zack already has his groomsmen picked it's more fun to think about what sort of fun things we'll do for them.

The McWoods Over at The McWood's they used flags for Canada and the UK as cufflinks for their gifts. Look how adorable they turned out. It's true to who they are as a couple. I think that's important when you pick out anything for your wedding. Cuff links can be cheap groomsmen gifts yet the possibilities are endless.

Sarah K Chen Photography One of my favorite photographers to blog stock is Sarah Chen. She recently shot the wedding of Connie and William who had the cutest, most detail oriented wedding. I *adore* these groomsmen bags. They have a personal touch and it's unexpected. They'd work for both your girls AND your guys. You can put anything inside the bags and if you get a special best man gift it won't stand out too much from the gifts for the other guys.

A simple gift bag like this could be used with a Gocco machine to make customizable. You might remember that I'm obsessed with them and pretty much have to have one. We've been looking at ways to  cut back with our wedding. DIY seems like the obvious path to take but with our wedding being in a different city it's hard to say if we will actually be able to go down that path.

Any creative ideas for groomsmen gifts? What did you do to save money?

Wedding Favors Can Save the Earth!

Wildflowers.bmpOverly dramatic? Probably. But can they help? Definitely! I'm talking about eco-friendly wedding favors, now so colorful, beautifully designed and packaged that you can easily find a style that suits your wedding. Here are three very different eco-friendly favors that will make you feel great about your thank-you gifts to your guests, who will leave your reception with admiration for you. And they'll love the flowers!

EcoFavorBags.jpgPersonalized Wildflower Wedding Favor Bags (right) contain seeds destined to become a sea of multi-hued wildflowers. What's really super about these bags is the wide variety of personalization options, including a photo of you and your groom. Just think of all the magnificent gardens you'll be planting far and wide. Makes you proud, doesn't it?

Wedding Poppers.jpgThere's a fun side to eco-friendly favors, too. A perfect example is the "Have a Blast!" Biodegradable, Celebratory Wedding Popper (left.) Instead of rice, your guests will escort you from your reception to the getaway car in a white confetti mist of biodegradable, tissue-paper confetti and streamers. The birds will thank you, and your guests will have a blast.

Plantable Flower.jpgIf you just want something sweet and simple, consider a plantable favor. They come in several shapes, and they, too, are the source of more gardens around the globe. The daisy-shaped "Love Grows" Plantable Wildflower Favor (right) has within it everything your guests need to create beauty where there was none before.

Now that you're getting married, you'll be starting a family. What kind of world do you want--for your kids?
