Hi Hi,
If you don't know by now, I have a dessert table fetish. Put me in a room with a bunch of props, some sweets, a little Adele and I am in heaven. Working on this next shoot was a serious dream come true. Not only did I work with a group of EXTREMELY talented vendors including miss Caketress herself, I had one of my best friends there to shoot it all. {Monique Simone Photography}.
Laduree is a house of macarons and delish pastries. So delish that standing outside in the freezing cold is completely worth it and spending close to three dollars on a little macarons is also every bit worth it. Everything about the brand makes me swoon so it was only be natural to pay homage and create a sweet table with them at the heart of it. Take a look at all this eye candy. oh and FYI: Amy Atlas the queen of dessert tables herself featured this beautiful table today {check it out}. What a way to share this inspiration with the world. Thank you to everyone included.
One last thing... if you haven't made the trip to Laduree, you have no idea what you are missing.

A xo

Add to myYahoo! Our next real bride feature is the awesome Anne Johnson!
The Gown: Jim Hjelm "Double Bubble" 8057
Bridesmaid dresses: From AniA, all navy and each bride got to pick her own style!
The Shopping Experience:
Emily was amazing. The first time I came in was with my mom and was actually one week before I was engaged. When my mom came to visit my husband, Curtis, nonchalantly said he thought it might be fun if we went dress shopping together :). I felt comfortable with Emily instantly and she kept MY dream dress in mind, even when I got distracted by other dresses. I only had a four-month engagement and wanted some custom work done on my dress and AniA made it happen in time. Also, Emily always answered my calls quickly whenever I needed anything. When it comes to the dress it is very nice to have such prompt attention and service.
What did your fiancee think about your gown?
Even though it was perfect, I tend to second-guess myself. He had never seen the dress I picked, not even in a picture. I was a little nervous but he loved it and could not stop looking at me. He also got it preserved in a display box as a surprise for me after the wedding!
Dress Emergency!!
I didn't try to dance in it beforehand. The inner skirt was too long causing me to constantly be stepping on the front of the dress whenever I tried to walk too quickly. Right before the father-daughter dance I realized something had to be done. I found the wedding planner and asked her to cut the under skirt by my feet. She looked so scared, saying "you want me to cut your dress"?! But she did it. It was just a tiny bit of tulle that you couldn?t even see and the rest of the night I danced to almost every song and had a fabulous father-daughter dance!
The Vendors
Photographer: Mark VanDonge
Venue: Waterbrook Winery
Florist: Amoré Floral Designs
Wedding Planner: Carrie Brennan, Without a Hitch
Hair: City Slickers
The Planning Process:
The beginning was fun, looking at pictures, trying on dresses and picking vendors/venues. But after that I was a mess. I am a zookeeper, NOT a wedding planner (for a reason). I did not like making tons of tiny decisions. Thankfully we found Carrie, our wedding planner, she got things under control, which allowed me to enjoy getting married again.
The most stressful part of the process was trying to please everyone. Everybody tells you not to try to please everyone but it was our wedding-- we wanted everyone to be happy. Also managing the vendors and details, that?s where having a wedding planner saved us.
A Few of Her Favorite Things:
I truly didn't think every thing would go of perfectly but it really did... no joke. If I had to pick one it would be the "outdoor church" (the hanging lanterns that were strung from the altar all the way behind the guests). I dreamt it up but my brother-in-law made it happen. It looked like it came out of a fairy tale. Thanks Wylie.
Anne's Advice for the Newly Engaged:
Get a wedding planner. They will save you money in the end and allow you to enjoy the process. But find a good one that is focused on you and is not overbooked. Also make sure you like them and they seem to get your vision. And dance in your dress at the store :)

Add to myYahoo! We are back to Orta Beach Club the new, fresh informal wedding venue on Lake Orta.
We are sure you remember that we introduced it few month ago in summer right after its inauguration: ORTA BEACH CLUB? a dreamy frame for your wedding by the shores.
Many among the images posted come from the wedding of a lovely couple coming from Milan: Laura and Andrea.
Today we would love see some more details of Laura and Andrea’s wedding on Lake Orta.
First of all we need to explain the title for this post!
It was a bet because Laura and Andrea booked Orta Beach Club before its inauguration with all the risks you could imagine.
It was a winning bet because it turned out in a great choice from every point of view!
Let’s go step by step!
Laura and Andrea come from Peschiera Borromeo a small village close to Milan. It is famous for its WWF natural park.
Many years ago it was the hunting reserve of Borromeo Counts, the same noble family of Borromeo Islands and Stresa.
For their civil ceremony Laura and Andrea had a look to many venues around Milan and lakes but nothing was more beautiful than Villa Bossi!
They fell in love with it!
Bride arriving by boat, the garden on the shores and St. Julius Island as background was surely the perfect frame and Laura and Andrea decided very quickly to book.
Laura and Andrea looked around for their reception venue, they were looking for something elegant but informal and they really did not want something too elegant such a villa or a restaurant in the village.
By chance they drove side of one of the beaches close to Orta San Giulio and they discovered that the beach club was going to open soon!
After meeting very professional Samuele and Luca, venue managers, Laura and Andrea decided that Orta Beach Club was the one!
Laura and Andrea’s bid day was planned for 6 August 2011 a wonderful sunny day!
After the ceremony bride and groom took a walk in the lovely and romantic little roads of Orta. Enrico Mocci one of our great photographers on Lake Orta took the photos of this special events and you can see them here.
Some more photos on the motorboat to reach Orta Beach Club where family and friends were waiting for them with a delicious aperitif by the shores!
After the sunset on the lake, the dinner prepared with all local and fusion and multiethnic food on the terrace has been served on the terrace with the lovely music of a jazz band as background.
A special night at Orta Beach Club for…. Laura and Andrea’s winning bet!
