Lake Como… in pink and summer fragrances!

Summer is always favourite wedding season for most of the couples who decide to get married on Lake Como.
Because of good weather, but also of beautiful colors of the Lake at this time of year.
Most of the times, the wedding details are mainly focused on chosen colour theme.
It can be interesting to know that lake Como summer season doesn?t have only strong colours, but also incredible perfumes!
This is what my bride Suzanne wanted to emphasize on her wedding day with Calixte in Varenna and Cernobbio.

Suzanne, who is a great perfectionist, wanted something really special: not only colors, but also summer fragrances diffused all around.

She loved the idea of feeling the scent of summer and freshness everywhere: from the bouquet to the Church of Varenna and also on the dinner tables.

Sage is known as the herb for wisdom. When carried with the garlic, it was believed that the bride would gather great wisdom and learn goodness. Another tradition, which was followed when herbs were used in weddings, was preparation of a kissing knot with rosemary and roses tied together.

Suzanne decided to go for white and fuchsia wedding with lot of aromatic herbs such as rosemary, mint, thymus and sage.
The result has been unbelievable as you can see from the pictures!

Both Varenna Church and Cernobbio Villa were adorned and perfumed as never before: the idea of using herbs to create original decorations and centerpieces gave a unique touch to this elegant pink themed wedding on Lake Como.

Harriman New York Wedding Photographers | and a
Bashful Junior Bridesmaid

Photographing flower girls and junior bridesmaids at weddings is a bit different than photographing adults. Almost. Both are prone to onlookers tossing them instructions to look at the camera and smile. But that almost never looks as good or real to me as when they’re “camera unaware.” Yet children either are playful to the camera [...]

Dior Spring Nail Collection; Rock Your Nails

If you rock dark hued polish year round like I do, you'll be happy to see that Dior's spring nail collection doesn't in any way resemble an Easter basket. Check out their exclusive to Nordstrom polish shades freshly released for spring.

Dior Vernis Gris Montaigne from their 'Spring Look' collection

Dior Vernis Blue Label from their 'Rock Your Nails' Collection

Dior Vernis Purple Mix from their 'Rock Your Nails' Collection

I also have Bond Street (similar blue ro Blue Label) and NY 57th (steely graphite) from the 'Spring Look' collection, both of which I love.

One application note; Dior polish in general is a bit thicker in its consistency which gives it a richer, more opaque coverage but can make a D.I.Y mani/pedi a bit more challenging especially if polishing isn't your thing. On the plus side is their wider, slightly pointed brush that covers most of the nail in one swipe and allows you to get close to the nail's edge easily without a lot of mess.

Diamonds And Diamond Rings At Christies Auction

The New York auction of the famous Christie?s was extremely good but one item did not fly off the auction table ? a ten-carat diamond that has an unusual purple-pink colour. How to hire a florist

Even if you plan to create and arrange your own wedding flowers, consulting with a florist first is still a good idea. A florist?s first-hand knowledge and years of experience can prove extremely useful, ensuring you don?t overlook small but important details and that your floral scheme matches your wedding style.Don?t know the first thing about hiring a florist? We?re here to help. Follow these steps, and you will be sure to find the florist that suits you.

Do your Research

It is never too soon to begin exploring your options. If you don?t already have a favorite florist, research and find local florists. Your wedding facility coordinator or recently married friends are a great place to start. Browse our directory of local florists for a complete list of preferred florists in your area. Once you have a list of local florists, make appointments to review their work and discuss your floral vision.

Meet with Potential Florists

Plan to review portfolios and discuss your overall vision during your first appointments with potential florists. His/her previous work should match that vision. Remember that these portfolios showcase their best work, so if you don?t like what you see, continue shopping. When potential florists follow-up with proposals for your wedding based on your discussion, you should be able to make a decision on which best suits both your vision and wedding budget.

Determine the Details

Now that you have selected your florist, schedule planning meetings at the ceremony and reception locations to determine the wedding flowers you?ll use and their placement (or provide photos so that the florist will have an idea of what the locations look like). Consider your wedding facility as a blank canvas upon which your florist will create his/her work of art. The look and feel of the setting will lead your discussions, determining both the blooms you choose and where they will be placed.

Schedule a Final Meeting

As your wedding day approaches, you may want to schedule a final meeting with your florist to ensure that you?re on the same page. Bring images that inspire you and go over the vision one last time. Be sure there isn?t a single detail missing from his or her master list. From the boutonnieres to the bouquets, you want to know you?ll receive everything you hoped for and more. This final meeting opens the lines of communication and allows your florist to ask and answer any final questions.
