For Japan With Love

My heart breaks for the people of Japan after the devastation of the past week and I know we are all searching for some way, any way, that we can lend a hand.  Tomorrow, Friday March 18th, EAD will be participating in a bloggers day of silence in honor of Japan, organized by Ever Ours and Utterly Engaged.  Those amazing ...

Creative Wedding Table Numbers

Ok… I have to come clean here, and confess… I AM NOT A FAN OF PLAIN JANE TABLE NUMBERS!

june62009-3

You know the ones that the venues provide, usually done on plain paper and then they laminate them so they last forever unfortunately.  Well, I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be that way… There are so many creative options to make your tables look fantastic as well as serve their purpose.  Here is a bit of inspiration to get you going.  If you’re stuck and not sure what to do, email me your wedding theme, an inspiration picture of your centrepiece and your wedding colours and I will help you come up with something unique, modern and creative! I’m sure you will agree that any one of these options look better than

This first picture is taken from one of my lovely couples engagement photo shoot.  They took creative pictures holding a number that represented their table number all over the city… They did some on the subway, in the park, just different poses to capture the number and it was personalized and adorable!  One of my favs! These pictures are from Mississauga Convention Centre in Mississauga Ontario.

Behind The Scenes: Vintage Luxe Shoot

We styled the most amazing shoot this week! We asked seven designers to send us their favourite gowns, their most innovative creations, so we could put together a shoot that was one-of-a-kind, elegant and extravagant. Our theme involved vintage-style fascinators and hats, lashings of accessories and a bit of bridal attitude. Come behind the scenes on our most creative shoot yet...

Sharon Blain of The Art of Hair created an incredible high bun using crimping and sewing techniques for a look that was cutting edge,
and Julie Elton Makeup Artist created smoky eyes and glowing skin for a high fashion finish
Our brief to the team was "help us create a look that's luxurious, edgy and unique" to show off some gorgeous gowns in a way they've never been seen before, styled to the nines and exploring the art of excess.

Left: Sharon Blain's innovative sewing technique creates a luxuriously high hairstyle,
Right: Our model Zoe Loveland gets ready for her close up in a gown and shrug by Karen Willis Holmes and stunning BVLGARI jewelleryLeft: Photographic Assistant Tom checks the light metre to ensure the perfect shot of a Christina Rossi gown with headpiece by Heavenly Collections,
Right: Makeup Artist Julie Elton and The Art of Hair's Sharon Blain place a sparkling headpiece by Wendy Louise DesignsAs the day wore on and more gowns were delivered, the team became even more excited. The gowns the designers had sent us were not only unique, they were truly different to anything we'd shot before and we delighted in styling and accessorising to create bold bridal beauty.

Left: Model Zoe Loveland shines in a signature gown by Sugar & Spice, fascinator by Viktoria Novak Designs and accessories by Najo,
Right: Our incredibly talented Photographer Justin Aveling moves in close for the perfect shotLeft: Model Zoe is impossibly beautiful between shots in a headpiece by Wendy Louise Designs and a gown by Alfred Angelo,
Right: Stylists Kimberlee Kessler and Rosemary Slade stop for a moment to admire their handiworkLeft: A Karen Willis Holmes glamour gown sparkles alongside BVLGARI jewellery,
Right: Finishing touches on our last shot of the day - a stunning gown by Fiorenza with necklaces by Paula Loves Paris,
earrings by Wendy Louise Designs and a vintage style fascinator by Viktoria Novak Designs
Our incredibly talented team: Photographer - Justin Aveling, Hair - Sharon Blain for The Art of Hair, Makeup - Julie Elton with MAC,
Stylists - Kimberlee Kessler and Rosemary Slade.

Our soundtrack for the day: The Fame - Lady Gaga, Like a Virgin - Madonna, Rose Royce - Car Wash

What do you think of our vintage luxe theme with stacks of accessories and en vogue vintage style headpieces? What kind of shoot would you like to see next? Leave your comments or stop by Facebook and say howdy.

And don't forget to enter our awesome win $200 towards your wedding competition

Enjoy!

Lunch With Friends & Shopping for Easter!

This afternoon I had lunch with a few girlfriends, Kimberly and Janie. After Kimberly posted a photo of her lunch on her blog a few weeks ago, and raved about how good the place was, we set up a lunch date to meet there today! And yes, that place was DELISH!!

Kimberly and I connected through the blogging world and I was introduced to Janie during a play date that we all had together, last October. Although life keeps us all busy, it's wonderful to connect every now and then and exhale over some good food! I love how blogging has produced some "in real life" friendships!

After lunch I took Ilah out and we headed to Hobby Lobby for some Easter finds!

The aisles are packed with so many pretty little things!

Last year I got Ilah's Easter Basket from here. It was so hard to resist buying another one because there were so many cute ones out! But I did good and left them right where they were at....

Bunny's, bunny's everywhere! One of them just might have came home with us; )

I seriously wanted to buy up everything on this display {but I resisted}....

Look at how cute some of these novelties are!....

The last time I went to Hobby Lobby I noticed this pail of "Grandma's Secret Spot Remover".....
The sign says: "Stain remover for all types of clothing, upholstery and carpet. Just a drop is all it takes to remove oil, grease, paint, make-up, grass, ink, blood, baby formula and many more. Apply small amount to stain rub it and rinse". I bought a bottle about a month ago and seriously...this stuff works!!! If you don't have a Hobby Lobby near you, you can get a bottle on Amazon! Go here.
Happy St. Patricks Day!!
