Our Invitations: Final Product

When it came time to do our invitations, we were literally starting from scratch. The only thing I knew I for sure was that I wanted a pocket so that all the information could be neatly kept. It's a pet peeve of mine to open an invitation and have little pieces of paper fall out. We played around with many options as you can see here, and we ultimately came up with the below invitation. Matt and I loved designing and creating the invitations ourselves, as they are truly a labor of love. We know they're not perfect, but they are ours, and we love how they turned out.

We decided on black linen pocketfold invitations from Paper and More.

Invitation 1

We then purchased ivory linen paper from Paper and More that we went on to cut, crop, and print at home. We purchased the lattice hole puncher by Martha Stewart from Michael's. Matt was a wonderful sport and hole-punched his way through the first three rounds of the NBA Playoffs. I think his forearms are stronger. We also purchased a gold shiny paper from Michael's to go behind the main invitation to showcase the texture from the hole punch.

Invitation 2 (2)

The ribbon was purchased (on clearance!) from Michael's. It is Martha Stewart brand in gold/pink.

Invitation 3

The envelopes were purchased from Paper and More in ivory linen. We lined them with paper purchased from Michaels. This was Matt's least favorite invitation task, but I love the difference it made in the end.

Invitation 4

We used the photo taken of the dessert the night we got engaged that says "she said yes" for our stamps.

invitation 6

Below is the entire invitation suite... we're thrilled with how they turned out. I could second-guess myself and talk about what I would do different, but I know it doesn't matter. Ultimately, we will always remember the time we spent working on them together, and that they are our own.
