We're Ready for Halloween!

I know, I know...we're not even through September yet and I'm talking about October and Halloween. But I'm super excited this year as Ilah is older and she can have a little fun getting dressed up and toting her Halloween treat bag around ; )
Towards the beginning of the year, my mother-in-law bought Ilah a Halloween outfit on clearance at Dillards after Halloween was over. It's not a "costume" per say, but it's a cute little cat outfit and it's warm, which is most important since it will be pretty cool at night on Halloween in our neck of the woods {that kinda sounds like we live in the sticks where the nearest porch light will be one hundred miles away} - but you know what I mean...the nigh time weather in October will be a bit cold.
There will be plenty of years ahead of us where Ilah will want to choose her own costume but this year, she will be wearing this little outfit....

Yesterday I made Ilah this hair bow to wear with it....

I spotted this super cute treat bag at Homegoods a few weeks back and thought it was so cute and the perfect size for Ilah to carry around Halloween night. She's really into carrying things and this darling bag couldn't have been more perfect, and it's super light since it's made out of cloth....

It was only $3.99!....

Back to the bow, I pulled from the colors on the goody bag and made it to match....

Our church will be having a night of fun for the kids on Halloween. I remember going to these at my church when I was little girl. They referred to them as a "Harvest Festival". Having a child brings back so many memories and I just love making special memories with our little girl!
I've been getting some emails asking when I would be adding new bows to my Etsy shop. My big coupon promotion that I did last month just about wiped out my inventory. With school back in session, Breast Cancer Awareness month coming up, and Halloween around the corner, I added these bows - and more like them - to my shop today....

Slowly but surely I'll be adding in more cute every day frilly pieces like this one, which I just put in today...
Here is the link to my Etsy shop if you'd like to see what's in my store: www.etsy.com/shop/MorganLaneBoutique

WEDDING STYLE: Vintage Italian

Okay, so I thought I would be back on Monday, I lied. The apartment project is taking longer then I thought (plus I barely have internet connection) So while I'm gone (and I promise to be back very soon) I thought you might want to feast your eyes on some wedding inspiration. While sitting in a waiting room for an appointment, I came across this GORG, old world Italian wedding shoot in Italian Vanity Fair. I know I must of looked like a weirdo taking pictures of the pages with my iphone but I couldn't resist. My fav, all the Italian men in their panama fedora hats....how stylish is for your groomsmen?

Kim Kardashian Loves Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs

I saw this photo recently of Kim Kardashian on USMagazine.com showing how well Sally Hansen’s Airbrush Legs works to cover her red patches caused by psoriasis. 3 years ago I blogged about this coverage in a can, and it has been in my kit ever since. For the body, it’s a step above using a regular bronzing lotion because it’s water resistant a… Read More...

I had no specific vision for venue, dress, flowers or anything else. I just decided that my colors would be ivory, champagne, blush and red. And that was my starting point.
Golf Srithamrong of Tantawan Bloom was the genius behind the flowers and décor of the ceremony and reception. I had a budget for my flowers and Golf stuck to it and brilliantly and strategically maximized the impact of the flowers. I wanted the flowers to be simple, modern and have clean shapes. Golf designed two humongous beautiful arrangements to frame Jeff and me up at the ceremony, lined the aisle with some floating candles and lighting did the rest.
When I discussed my color-scheme with Golf, he thought that mixing all my colors, which ranged from ivory to red, in the same arrangement would have a "candy-cane" effect. Instead he suggested that we utilize ivory, champagne and blush for the ceremony and reserve the red for the reception. I am so glad we went with his suggestion. With Golf and his team, the décor was super easy, I love what they did for my wedding.
We held both our ceremony and reception at the Mandarin Oriental ballroom and it was amazing the way the staff and the hotel was able to transform the space. I loved the panoramic city view of the ballroom. For the ceremony, we put down all the shades to create an intimate and cozy space, saving the views for a big reveal at the reception when all the shades were timed to go up as the band hit the chorus of "Empire State of Mind" by Alicia Keys as the guests were re-entering the ballroom for dinner and dancing. It had the potential to be corny, and perhaps it was, but no one seemed to mind. It was the most "talked-about" moment that our guests still continue to mention and remember about the wedding.
My wedding dress was amazing, it was the "baby calla lily" from Vera Wang. It was made of ivory silk organza and tulle, layered in a trumpet shape. I loved its simplicity and uniqueness. It was modern and made me feel tall. Given the simplicity of my wedding dress, I wanted to go dramatic with the veil, which to me, meant going full length with a cathedral veil from Vera Wang. My shoes are from Valentino. Playing dress-up as a child, my mother's red leather pumps were my favorite pair of shoes. When I saw these red pumps in Valentino - it was perfect, I just had to have them. My bridesmaids wore peach organza and silk dresses with an elegant black sash from Vera Wang. It was light and airy, summer-y, yet chic and sophisticated - perfect for an August wedding. I just love how delicate and pretty these dresses were.

How to change your relationship status on
Facebook without everyone knowing

I get that this is a very twenty-first century only-for-people-who-are-online-a-lot problem, and a silly one at that. Why, at the end of a long-term relationship that really meant something, would your mind wander to your Facebook relationship status? I can't tell you, I just know that for many people it does, and the creepy-crawly, upside-down-stomach feeling that goes along with those thoughts isn't the best thing ever. So here's how to hide your relationship status, updates and all.
