Add to myYahoo!Today I would like to tell you about a lovely couple coming from England: Joss and Nick.
They got married on July 9th, a bright and warm summer day that they will not forget for the rest of their lives!

They surely had a certain taste for lovely and good things and places so they opted for a wonderful wedding on Lake Como.
Everything was planned to be perfect!
We start from bride?s getting ready at Villa d?Este, the wonderful hotel famous all over the world with stunning view on the lake shores.
And we will end with the party in an amazing private villa near Cernobbio.
But let’s go step by step.

Nick and Joss decided to celebrate their special ceremony in lovely church in Cadenabbia just on the Como Lake?s shores. Here they soaked in a magical and romantic atmosphere created by wonderful floral decorations, white candles and the bright and warm colours of walls, together with a stunning red lacunar ceiling.

After the ceremony, a pleasant and cheerful boat trip led the newlyweds and their guests to the reception venue: an ancient villa with a big terraced garden that overlooks the lake!

This amazing villa gives the chance to choose the setting of your reception: inside, among old marvellous decorations that enrich its big and ancient rooms, or the outdoor space ?breathing? the romantic lake atmosphere.
Joss and Nick opted for this option!

They were blessed with a wonderful day, so the guests were able to enjoy the outdoors, gazing the breathtaking panorama during dinner and revealing in the cool lake breeze while dancing.

At the end of the party a white convertible Rolls Royce waited for the newlyweds. An original way to say good-bye to their guests and throw the Kate Middleton style bouquet to the girls!
What do you think?
Could we say that Joss and Nick had their royal wedding too?
We do think so!

I was so honored to share some of my decor style finds in the current issue of Adore Home. The tony shelter magazine has been a Merci must-read since it debuted last year -- I'm always enamored by its beautiful spreads, fabulous finds, and inspirational interiors.
Of course, the October/November 2011 edition of Adore Home is no less grand. To begin, it is stocked with oodles of chic, New York City-centric inspiration... and I'm not just saying that because of our feature! Perusing the pages, you'll get a glimpse of my dear friend Melanie Duncan's UWS home, an exclusive interview with kate spade new york ceo Deobrah Lloyd {and a peek at their amazing Fifth Avenue store}, a profile of Christina Tonkin - Sex & the City and Gossip Girl set designer, plus chic guides to Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Hamptons... and truly, so much more!

Happy reading!

Add to myYahoo! This week has been a complete whirlwind wrapping up final details for our fall weddings! In the midst of it all, I took some time to pull away a few looks that I am loving right now. We have a mix of weddings from contemporary glam to rustic, Southern vibes, and I am finding details from each wedding theme that really inspires me.
How gorgeous are these shoes? Benjamin Adams makes the most beautiful rhinestone-covered peep toe pumps that brides and non-brides alike can swoon over. Wear them for your wedding, your bachelorette party, the honeymoon, to vacuum the house... In Orlando, you can find them at Solutions Bridal.
All week I have been trying to find 30 minutes to recreate this manicure from Cupcakes and Cashmere (hasn't happened yet). Even for a classic bridal style, let your bridesmaids have some fun with color, patterns, and glitter nails.
Rustic-chic weddings are trending now and I'm having so much fun designing these mixes of stylish and ecelectic events. Mix it up with crystals, antique frames, teacups, burlap, linen, and chalkboards. Use a soft, classic color palette and let the details do the talking. Look for unique venues with wood beams, overhanging trees, and lots of character.
Cake stands really can be unique and customized. Fabulous Wedding Cake Stands creates one-of-a-kind stands made to your specifications. Don't forget you can also look around your own home for interesting pieces or ask family members for heirloom cake stands and serving trays.
Our friends at Studio 222 Photography offer "Party Booths" as a really fun alternative to a traditional photo booth. With a backdrop, a little signage, and guests that are ready for a good time, these are the perfect way to bring loads of personality and laughs to your event. You MUST check out the Party Booth they did with one of our October 1 weddings that is definitely the funniest one I have seen yet!
Have a great weekend, ladies and gents!

Add to myYahoo! This was a week of thinking about and reestablishing traditions. I spent the whole entire week in New York City – a rarity for me if you’ve been paying attention to my whereabouts over the last year and a half. For the record: it’s going on three weeks since The Country House was last cleaned but I was [...]

Add to myYahoo!A wonderful friend of mine, Niura Schwartz, introduced me to a beautiful composed image of a Bird of Paradise? of course I had to ask if I could use this photo for my next Inspiration Friday.
The Bird of Paradise is said to be the ether of life. But being a wedding blog of course we love the alternative meaning which is ?marriage? itself. It is said that the distinct colours of the Birds of Paradise connect and fuse like a husband and wife once married. Birds of Paradise come in many species each with it?s own distinct colour pattern. The male uses these colours in correspondence with it?s fluffed feathers and interesting dances to entice the females. If only men could be so enticing? well I suppose they?d have to be or my obsession for weddings could not exist? lol!
Happy Friday!!! Enjoy your weekend in paradise!
