Wedding Photos People Love | New York City
Wedding Photographer

One of the perks of having wedding photos, if you’re the bride (or groom), is showing them off (and rightly so) on social sites like Facebook. And why not? People love to see great wedding photos. Especially when wedding pictures are filled with your fun, passion and energy. People resonate with that! One of my read more

Bubble & Bee

I’m literally mid-order for a few things from Bubble & Bee right now which I think says a lot about the line. I don’t buy a lot of products since it’s part of my job to receive stuff so I can review them for you. And it’s not like I don’t have a body wash or 10 sitting around, but I just love their Squeezed Lime scent made from orga… Read More...

Navy tulle flower girl dress with matching ring
bearer suit

I really love it when a bride chooses a ring bearer for their wedding, being a mom of only boys (sigh).  I was particularly happy when I saw how beautiful they all looked! The customer choose Pegeen Couture style 402 for her flower girl dresses and for the ring bearer suit, she choose style 509, [...]

Same Sex Brides

I'm very excited because I've recently just booked another same sex wedding for June 2012!
In Ontario Canada, same sex partners can be married "legally." This is something I'm extremely proud we legalized here in Ontario and I am always happy to offer my services whenever they are requested. You might think that same sex brides might not want the traditional bridal looks but from my experience, they really do!

Because I'm from Toronto, it's becoming more common for me to get requests for same sex weddings as many couples travel to get married here. My very first same sex wedding party was done last August in Toronto. The couple (Natalie and Eileen) were from Australia and flew a great distance just to make their marriage legal. I loved how traditional they looked.  Natalie was dressed very traditionally in a long white gown while Eileen was in a tuxedo - she looked amazing! Natalie wanted a very classic hair updo while Eileen wanted a half up/half down "do." Both wanted beautiful clean makeup looks.

I'll be sure and take some photo's of my June 2012 brides for you all to see.

For those of you looking for information on gay weddings, please see this link. There is a ton of information to be found on planning your wedding plus a list of "approved" wedding vendors.  I happen to be included in their vendor approved listing and I can assure you they do their background search very thoroughly to ensure they recommend only those vendors who are gay positive!

See you all soon! xoxowww.vlmakeup.comvm@vickimillar.com416 953 5737

Are Mason jars really ruining the wedding
industry

In the latest chapter of the on-going online discussion about hating trends and trashing wedding blogs, came this piece entitled, The Mason jar manifesto, wherein a photographer scolds couples, photographers, and wedding planners alike for putting effort into wedding details and trends like Mason jars and twinkly fairy lights. It's been pretty well received by other photographers as well as wedding industry people, but I wasn't a fan.Maybe y'all will hate me and ride me out of the alternative wedding blogging biz on a rail when I say — details are the shit! Details make my day. Give me a great photo of some unexpected detail and I'm "dayum Ariel, did you check this out!? Let's feature this asap." You know why?
