hello, wedding soiree readers ? man, oh man, have the past couple of weeks been EXTREMELY busy!!! wedding planning is continuing to run smoothly?very much ahead of schedule! in fact, dude + i talk frequently about how we wish that the date were sooner, we?re trying to be patient, but?it?s difficult?reeeeeally difficult!!! you see, we recently closed on our new home; however, we made the decision that we will continue to live apart until after the wedding. the anticipation of finally being able to live together {or have sleepovers with my best friend for the rest of my life as i like to call it} is now magnified?like 100x! however, it has added a fun new dimension to our lives?not only are we planning the wedding, but we?re also decorating our new digs! we are truly blessed!
now onto a wedding planning update?
would you please just?SAVE THE DATE?!?
i honestly, can?t think of anything clever to say other than the fact that i am UBER-EXCITED about our save the dates.
suuuure, every future bride probably says the same thing, but seriously. ours are awesome!!!
we worked with the bee paperie to create our custom save the dates {sorry, but i just can?t seem to bring myself to use the abbreviation} + one of my talented friends lent a helping hand {literally} by addressing each of them. i don?t want to say toooo toooo much about the design of them as our guests have yet to receive them in the mail; however, i promise once our guests get their hands on them, i?ll be sure to spill the beans!
in the meantime, feel free to take a look at a few ?teaser? pics J
{no magnifying glasses allowed!!!} --- Joyfully planning, Crystal

Add to myYahoo! After officiating, one of my favorite parts of a wedding and reception is when the Bride and Groom make their grand entrance and begins their first dance. Are you worried about your first dance as husband and wife??? No need to worry!!! Even if you have never danced together before, you will be able to look like you have been dancing together for years! So, don't start your marriage off on the wrong foot. The Wedding Dance is the first activity that you will share as you begin your new life as a married couple. Now, I know that most of you have busy jobs with long hours, and the thought of heading off to a dance class after a very long day or long work week sounds exhausting. Here's the solution.
If you would like your first dance and the dances for the rest of your life to be impressive, romantic, and relaxed, then the opportunity is here for you. You can learn from the privacy of your own home, where you will learn smooth, simple moves that will work with the music you love.
Professionally directed and shot in HD by Oscar nominee Erika Frederick, "Dancing Together" is a 90 minute guided dvd that features 2 sample dances in full wedding attire for the newlyweds to learn. This is a great opportunity for couples on a limited time and budget to reap the benefits of learning from professionals.
This is a wonderful way to learn and have fun in the privacy of your own home while you perfect the dance that will be seen by all your guests at your reception. Remember, the more you practice, the better you will be.
I hope you will look into this great opportunity! Make sure you send me along photos from your wedding of your first dance so that I can feature them here!!!

This week, we chatted with designer CC.Elaine about her new line of bridal gowns designed specifically for women with curves. The collection is called Femme Luxe and includes sizes 12-32. In addition to being made with sumptuous fabrics and details, each gown also has a corset-style body shaper built right into the foundation. The entire collection will be available just after the new year. But take a look sneak peak at what's in store from this Chicago-based designer.

Add to myYahoo!Today I got to shoot 2 beautiful girls with a fantastic photographer, David Gaston of Gaston Photography.
Here's part 1 and how to get the look;
Since Carla has the luxury of having basically perfect skin *sigh* I didn't want to take too much away from that. I used my latest professional makeup obsession, Graftobian Hi Def Glamour Creme Palette, pressing the color into her skin with a dampened sponge so it covered any discolorations while still allowing her skin to show through. I'll have a full review of that line here in a few weeks, trust me- you'll love it.
I really wanted something to bring out her hazel eyes, so I chose the one and only Bobbi Brown eye shadow I carry in my kit at all times; Forest. This metallic deep olive is the perfect cure for a brown shadow rut because it looks fantastic on everyone, but gives that depth you can't create with neutrals alone.
Adding a flash of gloss to your lids is gorgeous for photos, but not much else. If you're looking to duplicate, use Aquaphor or Vaseline pressed into your lids over the top of shadows. The clock starts to tick immediately once you apply, and then the creasing begins and the color starts to deteriorate so act fast.
Coral cheeks and lips are unexpectedly chic and a nice departure from the ho hum nudes that would usually accompany a look like this one. Smashbox's Reign Fusion Blush in Regal is probably my favorite peachy blush to date, a precise blend of shimmer and matte in a delicate peach that suits all skins.
Enjoy a few more snaps, part 2 tomorrow.

Stumble It!

Add to myYahoo! It?s the most voluptuous place in the world that I?ve ever seen. The surrounding nature enchants with thousands of hidden seductions which give the sensation of being immersed in the rarest sensuality and refinement.
This is how Gustave Flaubert described this part of the Piedmont coast where the Lake Maggiore opens up into the Borromean Gulf, a green bay between the centers of Stresa and Pallanza, the two most brilliant gems of the Verbano.

The Grand Hotel Majestic is located in Pallanza, which faces the Island of St. Giovanni, the thirty-year summer residence of Arturo Toscanini. It is a fascinatingly beautiful Belle Epoque hotel distinguished by its incomparable architectural dignity, grand frescoed rooms and extensive lakeside English garden. Its construction became the impetus for the city?s booming tourism in 1870.

The optimal motivating attraction for nobles and the elite to choose to construct their luxurious villas in this region was primarily the agreeable situation amongst the exceptional panoramic peacefulness of the cape complete with surrounding mountains and mild climate.

From many of the hotel?s 99 rooms and 4 suites the dreamlike view of the lake?s serenity, surrounded by the mountains and the captivating beauty of the Borromean Island?s architectural and botanic artistry, can be marveled at. On the Isola Madre and the Isola Bella, just a few minutes away from the hotel by boat, the Borromeo Dynasty buit two luxurious domiciles in the 600?s surrounded by some of the most beautiful gardens of the Lake Maggiore. Of all the gardens in the world, these gardens are surpassed in the beauty only by the magnificent botanical gardens of Villa Taranto housing 20.000 plants species, 1.000 of which had never been cultivated in Italy before. The garden is within walking distance from the Grand Hotel.

Enchanted by the aquamarine panorama of the lake, as seen from the terrace of Majestic, Eleonora Duse had her tailor fashion a dress ??in the same color as the lake?. Among an array of illustrious artists who have been accommodated in the ambience of the Grand Hotel are Grazia Deledda and the composer Claude Debussy. To name a few, the boats of the Stuarts, the Queen of Romania, the monarchs of Italy, the noble families of Germany, Indian Princes and Maharaja were docked here?In short, the personalities symbolizing ?bon vivre? of the 800?s have enjoyed the splendor of the hotel.

After some decades of decline, the Grand Hotel Majestic underwent a long restoration period and was returned the dignity of its past. Its rejuvenation brings the true value of its classical style to life and gives the impression of being immersed in an atmosphere of times gone by, all the while offering its guests adequate services with attention focused on today?s comforts.

Upon entering the Grand Hotel Majestic, you are enthralled by the class and elegance of it?s reception hall, clad with original wooden floors, bronze chandeliers and art deco? lamps designed by Florentine craftsmen.

From here you can take a look up at the rooms on four floors, visible from the interior court with white marble columns. Just a few steps ahead you can take in the panoramic view from the terrace tables in one of the lounge bars.

A succession of elegant and comfortable sitting rooms unwind along the entire façade, giving guests views through the picture windows of the terrace and porches overlooking the lake. At each of the two ends of the building are two large drawing rooms that re-evoke the fabulous ballrooms of the palaces of the past.

The marvelous view can be taken while dining at one of our two restaurants: ?Il Rossini? chic and appetizing, and ?La Beola? serving local a la carte specialties from the Verbano.
The Hotel has two main function rooms, The Toscanini and The Intra, which are perfect for holding meetings and banquets in a truly unique atmosphere: decorated in period style, the rooms are elegant, stylish and bright, thanks to the wide windows that overlook the porch and the lake and afford a spectacular view.

Come nice weather, one can enjoy sitting on the porch under the arcades in the garden. The recreational program of the Grand Hotel Majestic offers excursions by boat or limousine to enjoy the sun at private beaches or to practice various sports in the vicinity like sailing, golf and horseback riding.

Beauty Farm is available to the hotel guests who would like to take an invigorating and toning swim in the pool, utilize the fitness center, or benefit from a relaxing massage.

The guests at the Grand Hotel Majestic can count on high quality accommodations and facilities, thanks to the recent meticulously carried out renovations and additions, which return an air of a poetic era: the magical beauty and splendor of this elite hotel renders it refined and in harmony with the magnificent Lago Maggiore, and a place where its guests can enjoy the most relaxing and revitalizing vacations.
