Inspiration #40: Bows!

I've been obsessing over bows lately. I recently bought a silver metallic bow headband at J. Crew (on sale for $9), a metallic pleather metallic bow purse at Payless (thank you for the 50% off, Oprah --only $9) and a white bow button-up top at H&M (only $12 with a 50% off coupon). How's that for going bow-crazy on a dime?

Here's what else has caught my fancy although they are well beyond my budget:

{Giorgio Armani-White & Black Pinstriped Bow-Tie Dress-?09 Fashion Fall/Winter Forecast}

{Ted Baker Bow Detail Leather Tote}

{Anthropologie Alcee Dress}

{Nanette Lepore Lovin' You Pumps}

Is this 2009's tackiest wedding!

I am still speechless at this wedding that was sent to me via a Greek friend, could this be the tackiest wedding for 2009. I quickly have to add we have nothing to do with this, but just had to post[...]

The Economy IS Getting Better!

Folks, it?s completely true, the economy is getting better. Even though all that we hear are the horrible stories on the news, magazines, online and in the newspapers (those of us that still actually read the newspapers!), that this company is chapter 11, this company is out of business, this company just laid off 500 workers, [...]

Veet Hair Removal Gel Cream for Sensitive Skin

In the latest edition of 'Carissa Shares too Much,' I'd like to announce that I regularly shave or wax my arms. It's not that they're overly hairy, or even that I'm opposed to a little arm fur, it's just something I started doing that haunts me if I don't continue it regularly.

Since this experience has made me into an official hair-removal guru, I understand that shaving leaves a weird manly stubble, and waxing hurts like hell takes too long, so I've now switched to Veet Hair Removal Gel Cream for Sensitive Skin. In a matter of 5 minutes, this sweetly scented cream dissolves hair that's easily scraped away with a plastic scraper (included), then rinsed clean revealing smooth hair-free skin. It lasts about as long as waxing does, but grows in really soft and undetectable.

For unwanted body hair, Veet is the easiest solution I've seen thus far.

BAGS IN BLOOM

source

Photos courtesy Vogue Italy

Aka kissing balls, some of these bags in bloom look like small and rounded bouquets; others take on the shape of a handbag or clutch. Kissing balls and bloom bags are an alternative to baskets of flowers or the scattering of rose petals. Many churches and venues have banned the dropping of petals due to liability issues as well as carpets getting stained.
Kissing Balls can be carried up the aisle then hung from the ceiling, a chandelier or placed in a vase come reception time. During the holidays, mistletoe can be added for a festive touch. Typically a florist can concoct a pomander or purse of real flowers depending what is in season. Craftspeople though are introducing some creative alternatives on the real thing, adding anything from berries to feathers, plumes, pine cones and jewels. To check out some real off the charts kissing ball chic, follow the links to these Etsy sellers:

A Bride's Journey, Part 9

hello, wedding soiree readers ? man, oh man, have the past couple of weeks been EXTREMELY busy!!! wedding planning is continuing to run smoothly?very much ahead of schedule! in fact, dude + i talk frequently about how we wish that the date were sooner, we?re trying to be patient, but?it?s difficult?reeeeeally difficult!!! you see, we recently closed on our new home; however, we made the decision that we will continue to live apart until after the wedding. the anticipation of finally being able to live together {or have sleepovers with my best friend for the rest of my life as i like to call it} is now magnified?like 100x! however, it has added a fun new dimension to our lives?not only are we planning the wedding, but we?re also decorating our new digs! we are truly blessed!

now onto a wedding planning update?

would you please just?SAVE THE DATE?!?

i honestly, can?t think of anything clever to say other than the fact that i am UBER-EXCITED about our save the dates.

suuuure, every future bride probably says the same thing, but seriously. ours are awesome!!!

we worked with the bee paperie to create our custom save the dates {sorry, but i just can?t seem to bring myself to use the abbreviation} + one of my talented friends lent a helping hand {literally} by addressing each of them. i don?t want to say toooo toooo much about the design of them as our guests have yet to receive them in the mail; however, i promise once our guests get their hands on them, i?ll be sure to spill the beans!

in the meantime, feel free to take a look at a few ?teaser? pics J

{no magnifying glasses allowed!!!} --- Joyfully planning, Crystal
