My large tote & mini-emergency wedding day kit custom made by Personalized TouchWhen I started in this business I read, read, read every book, magazine and blog entry on destination weddings. One of the most important tips I came across was about putting together an emergency wedding kit and I quote her advise "do not attempt to coordinate a wedding without one!". Thank goodness I took that advise, because that kit has saved the day again and again! To name a few of the "little emergencies" I have encountered - the infamous broken nail, hems that have come undone, headaches, stains, hair crisis and numerous black suits requiring lint clean-up. Well my trusty emergency kit handled every emergency, no-problem!
So here is my advise, if you have hired a planner make certain she or he has an emergency kit and go over the particulars of it with her. Remind him/her to replenish and organize it before your wedding day. If you don't have a planner make an emergency kit yourself and assign it to someone for safe keeping and accessibility. You don't want to be running around looking for nail glue (or any other item) because an acrylic nail popped off. You want to be able to pick the nail up, go to your kit, glue it back and stay right on track with the days events.
For your convenience, here is my Emergency Wedding Day Kit must haves. Add or take away whatever you see fit:
