Always a fan of Mischa Barton, I love her recent laid back look while in Cannes. The tiered white gown with a patterned panel at the waist is actually a modified Matthew Williamson embellished dropped waist dress form the designers Spring 2008 collection.
The details on Mischa's dress remind me of those beaded belts I went nuts over in high school. I remember scouring the mall for decorated belts, Thunderbird Minnetonka Moccasins and make your own bead kits. Although I haven't been tempted since, now that summer is here it may be time for a trip to Beadworks. This collection from Lucky magazine brings back memories of summer Dave Matthews Band lawn seats, patchwork jeans and stacks of cotton printed tops that have long since been packed away. The blog The Finer Things breaks it all down with a collection of tribal pieces not to be confused. And for a high end hippie treat, Style.com has pegged Hippie Revival as a top trend for Spring 2008.
