Airbrush Application ~ What's the scoop

www.vlmakeup.com
This is a question I get asked a lot - what is airbrushing? When you hear a makeup artist say they carry out "airbrushing" for weddings, this means they apply foundation onto your skin using an airbrush that is powered by a compressor.
Airbrush is an art in itself. It doesn't hurt, it doesn't sting and it doesn't get all over your hair or clothes. It also does not take over the more traditional or 'old school' method of foundation application which is the skill of blending a foundation that perfectly matches your skin tone using either a foundation brush or sponge. Airbrush is another option to traditional application, a modern twist if you like! So, why is everyone talking about it? When a trained makeup artist applies airbrush foundation they apply a fine mist of foundation on to your face using an airbrush that is powered by a compressor. Depending on what 'finish' the artist is after will depend on what brand/texture is used. There are several brands and textures available and a good makeup artist will have several of these in her kit. The results when done well, are absolutely flawless and extremely long lasting. In today's world of high definition television, film and digital photography where every detail shows in magnitude on screen, makeup artists are leaning towards using airbrush technology in order to produce the results demanded in the industry today.
So why choose airbrush application for your wedding day?
Airbrush provides flawless effects to the skin so that in high definition or digital photography the skin appears smooth, natural and beautiful. It feels as though you aren't wearing any foundation because the product is applied lightly, layering carefully and evenly in order to create a smooth, even effect. So, choosing airbrush for your big day means you will look flawless in person and in your photographs. Your makeup won't budge, smudge or melt and is water resistant. This is good news for those brides who tear up at the alter! At the end of the day, you'll remove your makeup by using a cream cleanser (drug store brand will do!). It's that easy. There is no age limit to this technology either, as I've airbrushed women of all ages up to and including very mature. The results are always the same. Flawless, glowing, youthful skin.
Some makeup artists, like myself apply blush, highlighting and contouring with airbrush as well. The idea's and creativity for airbrushing are endless and the results are always outstanding, long lasting and flawless. Give it a try and book airbrushing for your trial. Look at yourself in the mirror and see the difference. Remember, airbrushing is a specialized skill that requires a very skilled makeup artist to bring it to life!
