Baby Steps

I've made all kinda of interesting progress on the wedding. Lauren and I have an appointment with a caterer on the 17th about menu options (if we dont get bumped by Obama business). We have put a guest list totalling 124 people on an Excel spreadsheet. We have sent out emails requesting addresses. And we've dropped off the marriage letter to the Marriage and Family Committee at the Meeting. Not to mention, I've also purchased lipstick and false eyelashes in preparation for a second round of hairstyling.

Above you can find my friend Emma clutching all of the tulle, netting, buttons and feathers I bought to make a birdcage veil combo fascinator-ma-bob. She very patiently selected hair combs and suggested flair, only to have it rejected, for like a whole hour, marooned somewhere in the wilds of Northern Virginia. She is a good, good woman.

Best of all, Lauren says she is going to have the Save the Dates finished by next weekend. Her deadline is slightly unrealistic considering the madness we have planned for the inauguration, but her talent is undeniable. I cant wait to show you what she comes up with!

I think this next month is going to bring me the very necessary progress I've been craving.
