I'm very excited to bring you another swoon-worthy wedding from Jeffrey Marcus of JM Visuals. Jeffrey was kind enough to snap some behind-the-scenes shots at this very chic, very colorful New York City wedding. We've seen yellow before but never quite like this.
From Jeffrey... The bride, a style savvy trendsetter working in fashion and education gravitated towards statement-making bold pops of color, putting the party in wedding party! She wanted to incorporate the color into many aspects of the wedding day - from the invitations to the flowers to the accessories and little details of her special day. The bride partnered with Jeffrey Marcus of JM Visuals and wedding coordinator Lucia Han of Two of Cups to ensure that no detail was overlooked.
The landmark St. Patrick's Cathedral provided a grand setting for the couple's nuptials. Friends and family gathered to witness the bride and bridegroom as they took their marriage vows. Following the emotion-filled ceremony, guests gathered outside the cathedral, and as the new couple made their exit, 100 bright yellow balloons were released into the gorgeous New York summer sky.
The bride and groom arrived in a vintage checkered taxi cab, circa 1969, from Film Cars. The bride wowed guests and 5th avenue tourists alike the moment she stepped out of the car with her Miss Dior Patent Pumps in lemon, by Christian Dior and her strikingly chic Priscilla of Boston gown.
The reception was held at the Omni Berkshire Place, where the event's colors, yellow and black, continued throughout all elements of the décor. Lush bouquets featuring Toulouse-Lautrec garden roses, yellow Latina roses, Craspidia and yellow button mums. The boutonnieres featured yellow Craspidia, making a bold graphic statement. An escort table had a tailored black bengaline tablecloth with a centerpiece of large yellow balloons.
A dessert lounge beckoned guests with mouth watering lemon-yellow French macaroons from Almondine Bakery and whirly pops colorfully displayed. Within the lounge, guests left personal notes and well wishes for the bride and groom on custom stationary using a vintage typewriter.
The three-tier vanilla and lemon wedding cake from Soutine Bakery was decorated with alternating black fondant ribbon and large yellow fondant polka dots. The cake was beautifully displayed on a bright yellow cake stand.
Thank you to Jeffrey Marcus for sharing this delicious wedding with us and congrats to the beautiful and happy couple! {photo credits: michaelangelo dumlao}
