Vendor Rating: A+
Debra Barrett of Scissors Salon did my hair and the maid of honor's hair for the wedding. My style was perfect and I could not have been happier with the choice to work with her.

I was anxious, but Debra has been highly recommended by another bride who was married at Tensing Pen and Sonia, the coordinator at Tensing Pen. I called Debra a few times to confirm the plan and our appointment but need not have worried, everything worked out just as planned when I arrived in Jamaica.

The day before the wedding, Friday, we went in for a hair trial. I had photos of my "dream" style and Debra assigned a stylist to achieve the style before I left that afternoon.

My maid of honor also got her hair done, and the results also matched the inspirational photos so closely, they could not have done a better job.

My hair was washed, and straightened, here I am in the bowl being washed and under the dryer.

Efficiency and Effort

Debra, who has worked at Sandal's salon in Negril was a hairdresser in the States for many years. Show knows what she is doing, as her years of experience with destination brides helped with every aspect of planning the hair for the wedding.

She now runs her own salon and we went there for the trial and arranged for her to come, with her team, to Tensing Pen the morning of the wedding.

The world is a small place, Debra has visited my business Jive Turkey in New York. She is American and on one of her trips home she came in. In all the calls we had planning to confirm our appointment we had no idea that we had met before.

Debra and her team works from a small boutique located at the center of Norman Manley Blvd. in Negril. Afterward we finished the wedding style we took it out and I created a quick style to wear for the day.

Best Contribution:

Her best contribution was her versatility! She added a few lashes to the corners of my eyes at the last minute and I loved that.

Professionalism and Competency:

Her price included the trial, the wash and blow-dry of my hair and a day of styling for the wedding. Her team arrived on time at Tensing Pen and with all the equipment needed to style our hair. We just sat down in the air conditioned room and she went to work.

She had every product to anticipate for humidity and while I brought hair that was needed to achieve the style she had everything else.

Here was the final result next to the inspirational photo.
